Vincent Harriott
Technical Writer and Software Developer
This site is intended for any software designer who wants to build a successful prototype, arrange some funding, hire a team of developers, and start building software that will change the world! Software projects with more than one developer require a software version control system that enables code review.
This site assumes that the reader is aware of source control concepts. Although many source control systems have the same base functionality, this document focuses on Bitbucket with the Sourcetree graphical user interface for Windows.
This site is not a Bitbucket or Sourcetree tutorial.
NOTE: Some readers may be familiar enough with Bitbucket to be more comfortable using Bitbucket commands from the CMD (DOS) window. In this site some Bitbucket commands are executed from the CMD window, but all those commands can also be executed via Sourcetree.
A technical project / project manager may also benefit from this site, as it details the configuration needed for multiple developers to collaborate using a source control system.
